MANON DAMIENS
Metal sculptor graduated from the crafts of ENSAAMA, after my studies, I first worked as a set designer for theatre and cinema. Then I moved for 2 years in Niger where I learned the technique of Touaregs jewellery from a master blacksmith.
Rich in all these experiences, supported by DRAC Occitanie, I opened my sculpture workshop in Narbonne in 2013.
I aspire to move our first perception of material: make the metal light, airy, mobile, flexible and sometimes even sound to release all its sensoriality.
My sculptures are dreamlike abstractions inspired by nature and organic forms.
During a dialogue between the material and my sensitivity, I create spaces, gaps, cracks, emptiness, so that the metal fed air breathes, ripples vibrate…”
